Father Peter Farrington is a priest of the Coptic Orthodox Church, serving in the Diocese of the Midlands in the UK under His Grace Anba Misael.
He grew up in a committed evangelical Christian family and spent his childhood and youth in a local evangelical community. As a young man he spent three years training as a pastor and missionary at an evangelical Bible college, and it was especially during this period of his life that he began a journey of exploring the Apostolic and traditional Christian spiritual life which led him to become a member of the Coptic Orthodox church in 1994.
He served as a member of the British Orthodox Diocese for many years, and was ordained a priest in 2009. More recently he came under the direct care of his Holiness Pope Tawadros II, and and since 2016 has been serving in the Diocese of the Midlands in the UK. He was given the rank of Hegumenos in 2023 and serves as the priest of St Mary and St Cyril Coptic Orthodox Church in Liverpool.
Father Peter has been a student of theology and Orthodox for many years, even before he became an Orthodox Christian. He has written several books about the Orthodox Faith including Orthodox Christology, and Orthodox Christianity: Reasonable Faith. He has visited variety of countries to serve the church in different ways, and especially in teaching and preaching. He is presently engaged in further studies in theology and disability to be able to better serve the Church.
